As a Community Interest Company we act in the interest of our local community, we’re a ‘not for profit’ & any profit made goes towards our mission of helping to end rural homelessness by supporting our primary beneficiary group - the Dairy House hostel residents. Our board of Directors give their expertise, time & support on a voluntary basis & do not accept or take any payments or dividends.

We have a strong community ethos and therefore, we’re grateful that many people offer their time and skills to volunteer - as well as fundraising for us, so the community garden continues to grow, develop and progress.

We need your help

We are not a charity but follow a CIC model which means half of our income is through commercial trading sales & the other half through grants, donors, donations & volunteer activity.

We rely on our amazing volunteers to keep this scheme running, and contributions - financial or otherwise - from friends of Root Connections.

We would love you to get involved with our community garden. Offering time to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the garden, helping run our veg box scheme and cut flower subscriptions, or giving your skills in whichever way you can - everything helps us operate smoothly and improves our positive impact on the people we support.

If you have a fundraising idea we can support you in getting it off the ground. Even small contributions to our projects can have a huge impact.

Come and be part of something life changing.

We urgently need to raise £50,000 to build an outdoor Community Hub. Creating a bespoke, all year-round facility so that we can deliver horticulture-based health and wellbeing pathways to our beneficiaries is our next task.

The classroom will be used for those who are rough-sleeping or at risk of homelessness as well as other local groups and people who, with more complex needs, are struggling to recover from the effects of the pandemic in particular, and rural isolation more generally.
