We offer time and space for people to learn skills, gain knowledge, get to know local people and have some fun! 

Here, you can book a range of workshops, events and activities for kids. We are not-for-profit, so by attending one of our events, you’ll be directly supporting the work we do to end rural homelessness. 

You can also sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of the page to hear news from the farm and stay up to date.

Pop-up Farm Shop - Every Friday From April

We have a pop-up farm shops at the farm every Friday from 10am – 12.30pm. Come on down to purchase freshly picked produce from source.

Children’s Holiday Club

We offer school holiday clubs throughout the year led by Director Cathy and volunteer David, who worked in primary education together for twenty years. Both are fully DBS checked and have completed safeguarding training.

They have developed a fun and physical holiday club programme aimed at children aged 7-11 years. Groups are kept to a maximum of 15 children and activities range from cooking on the fire and den building to gardening.

Activities are outside and children should come dressed for all weathers. Children are expected to bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks.

Step into Spring - Wellbeing Walk

Join us for a gentle Spring Equinox Wellbeing Walk — a relaxed 1km stroll through nature to mark the changing season and welcome longer, lighter days. Take time to breathe, connect with others,  and enjoy warm refreshments by our firepit.

Bloom into Spring - Living Wreath Workshop

21st MARCH 10AM

Join us for a relaxed and creative 3-hour, hands-on workshop where you’ll weave your own willow wreath base from scratch, then decorate it with fresh foliage, seasonal blooms, and natural materials using the Kokedamas method. The perfect way to welcome the season and create something lovely and lasting to hang on your door or gift to someone special.

Pottery with Suzanne King - Sculptural Garden Planters

11th April 10AM

Join us for a hands-on pottery workshop with Suzanne King where you’ll make your own beautiful planter, inspired by the gardens at Root Connections.

 Learn key hand-building techniques including coiling, pinching, and slab building, along with a range of decorative finishes. No experience needed! Suzanne will guide you step-by-step, from preparing your clay to shaping your final piece.

 Suzanne will then fire and glaze your planter, ready for collection from Manor Farm Studios in 3–4 weeks.

Mosaic Making - An Introduction with Frances Campbell

Join us for a relaxed and creative session where you’ll craft two beautiful mosaic coasters to take home. Guided by Frances Campbell of Campbell Mosaics, you’ll learn how to design, cut, and arrange tiles to create your own unique pieces.

No experience needed — Frances will support you every step of the way. All materials are provided, and you’ll leave with two handcrafted coasters perfect for your home or as a thoughtful gift.

From Seed to Vase – A 3-Part Workshop Series to Grow Your Own Cut Flowers

10TH APRIL | 29TH MAY | 21ST AUGUST 1PM

This series of practical workshops will take you from seed to vase, teaching you which flowers to grow and how. Each workshop covers a different topic with the final being cutting and arranging the flowers you have learned to grow. Workshops can be booked individually, or enroll in all three to experience the full journey as a mini course.

Frome Seed to Vase - A 3-Part Workshop Series

Workshop 1: Grow Your Own Cut Flowers - Seed Sowing

10th APRIL

We will have a look at the Root Connections cutting garden and you will learn which flowers we grow for bouquets and why. You will then be taken into the propagation tunnel to learn top tips for success looking at equipment needed and also learn about pricking out and potting on. You will then sow some different varieties of flowers. You will go away with three different flower seeds in a mini propagator that you have sown to take home.

Workshop 2: Grow Your Own Cut Flowers - Starting your patch

We will have a look at the Root Connections cutting garden and you will learn what is needed to start your own cutting patch. You will learn what flowers to choose and why, how to prepare the ground, when to plant and how to keep your flowers blooming all summer long.  We will be planting out some flowers and you will be given three varieties of flowers in 9cm pots to take home and start your own patch with.

Workshop 3: Grow Your Own Cut Flowers - cutting your own bouquet

We will have a look at the Root Connections cutting garden and you will learn when to cut and how to condition flowers for bouquets. You will then learn how to make a professional hand tied bouquet using the flowers you have cut which you may take home.

An Introduction to Beekeeping: Taster Morning

Curious about bees or wondering if beekeeping might be for you? Join us for a relaxed Bee Keeping Taster Morning and discover the fascinating world of honeybees.

You’ll learn the basics of beekeeping, how hives work, and the important role bees play in our environment. Weather permitting, we’ll also open a live hive at the apiary so you can experience the bees up close.

Protective clothing will be provided — just bring your wellies and a sense of curiosity!

Perfect for beginners or anyone who simply wants to learn more about these incredible pollinators. Please note this event is NOT suitable for anyone with bee sting allergies.
